About Volunteer Comox Valley
Volunteer Comox Valley (VCV) supports the public, private and social sector partnerships; and the creation of linkages between different sectors of the community through information access. We believe that the public good can be achieved through:
• Empowerment of all through access to information
• Local capacity building
• Community stewardship of local content
VCV is committed to forming intercommunity partnerships. VCV will host your non-profit organizations' contact information and will enable you to easily update your content at anytime. We will also link to your organizations' existing webpage to promote community awareness in your plight. You may list your volunteer requirements and volunteers may register online to connect with organizations requiring their specific fields of interest, skills, and abilities. VCV will strengthen the volunteer coordination efforts for special events as well as act as an online resource directory.
Voluntary sector organizations carry out important work in many areas, including sports and recreation, arts and culture, health, religion and environmental protection. Through their staff and volunteers, these organizations work daily in communities across Canada, identifying needs and providing effective services to improve people's lives and support the well-being of communities. In addition to its support role, the voluntary sector contributes significantly to the Canadian economy.
The voluntary sector's ability to build bridges between communities and cultures helps to promote understanding, awareness, diversity, inclusion and social justice- connecting people locally, regionally, nationally and around the world.
